Do I need a referral from my primary care physician?

You do not need a referral from your primary to do physical therapy, so you can receive immediate treatment. Patients can have 10 sessions within 30 days prior to needing a referral

What is physical therapy?

Physical therapy uses exercise, hands-on skilled manual techniques, and appropriate modalities to restore function and decrease pain for people who have been injured, immobilized, had surgery, or were otherwise impaired in their movement and flexibility. 

Who can benefit from physical therapy?

Physical therapy can work for people of all ages and health conditions. It benefits those with recent or past injuries, surgeries, or  general physical stresses that may come with aging, health conditions or even major illnesses. What can you expect during your first visit?

You will be asked to complete forms in the patient portal prior to your visit. Rick will review the information you enter before you come to your first visit. The initial evaluation will take approximately one hour. This is a comprehensive neuromusculoskeletal evaluation to identify impairments, formulate goals, and develop an appropriate treatment plan to improve symptoms and maximize function.
